20th Anniversary Service. – Divine Healing Ministries was formed 20 years ago and on Monday 18th November 2013 we will be celebrating this milestone anniversary.  We give thanks and praise to God for all that He has done for us down through the years; for the numerous blessings of His healing touch received, and for many lives changed for the better. Thanks are also given for the many people, past and present, who have faithfully served as God’s instruments as part of our ministry teams over these 20 years; to those folk who have used their musical skills leading praise at our services, and to all who in faith come along for prayer, not only for themselves but also on behalf of others. We offer our thanks as well to all who have shared their own experiences with us by speaking at our services and to those who by their teaching have helped our ministry develop. Our guest speaker at this event will be Fr. Pat Collins who will address the theme, “God still heals today.” Pat has been a very good friend to our ministry for many years and we are delighted and thankful that he is able to join us on this special occasion. Last, but by no means least, we give thanks for all of you who have been able to join with us in the celebration of this landmark event.

Teaching on how to pray for ourselves. – Brother David Jardine will be doing three teaching sessions on how to pray for ourselves.  These will take place in the Chapel of Unity in St. Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast on Thursdays, 7th, 14th and 21st November from 8 pm to 9.30 pm

This is a way of praying that involves welcoming the Holy Spirit to flow into every part of us and especially into any areas of our body that need healing.  If you remember that the Holy Spirit is the most powerful force in the whole world this way of praying brings a great blessing in body, mind, and spirit.

It involves us either sitting in a chair or lying down on a bed, closing our eyes, relaxing our bodies completely, taking a few minutes to focus on Jesus, welcoming the Holy Spirit to flow into every part of us (this is the main part of the prayer), and then finish off praising God in faith that He is responding to our prayer and bringing healing. All of this lasts about 20 or 30 minutes and it is a very gentle way to pray.

Brother David recommends that people in need of this type of prayer use this method once, or even twice, every day in their own homes.

‘We have a number of people coming to our ministry’ he says ‘who are suffering from serious illness, and they are making good progress.  What seems to be the key with these people is, first of all, their motivation.  They really want to get well.  Secondly, they have caught a vision of praying for themselves, and they practice it every day at home.’

Many people find it difficult to pray for themselves, and this is an opportunity to learn how to do it in an effective way.  Each evening Brother David will do a teaching session, take questions and comments, and then lead people in practising this way of praying. They will be three very blessèd evenings.

If you are unwell please think about coming to learn more about this important dimension of healing. There is no charge for the course, but on the final evening there will be an opportunity to make a freewill offering.

Christmas Break – Please note that our final services before the Christmas break will be; 12th December – Shankill Methodist, 16th December – St. Anne’s, 17th December – St. Finnian’s, and   23rd December – St George’s.               All services will resume at the beginning of January.

Prayer for Revival – This is just a reminder that we are asking people to say the prayer for revival every day. We hope that you will be able to either continue making this commitment or to start making the commitment. It is not a big commitment but if enough of us do this it could be important for the future of  this country;

High King of Heaven, have mercy on our land.

Revive your Church.

Send the Holy Spirit, for the sake of the children.

May your Kingdom come to our nation.

In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

Christmas Gift – Still wondering what to give someone for Christmas? Why not buy one of our wide selection of CD’s or DVD’s. They would make a great gift and may also prove to be a blessing to the recipient.

The CD recommendation for November is, “The Healing Power of Forgiveness”. Forgiveness; genuine forgiveness, is not something that comes easily to any of us.  When someone causes us pain, whether it be physical or emotional, a lack of forgiveness can easily take root within us and, despite our best intentions, re-emerge as resentment and bitterness. Forgiveness is a fundamental element of our Christian faith and as such we must learn to apply it in our daily lives. We must also recognise that it is a command from God and that there are consequences for not putting it into practice. Forgiveness is a very serious business. In this CD Brother David Jardine, drawing on many years of experience, offers us instruction on introducing the healing power of forgiveness into our lives. There are no quick fixes but with perseverance and the application of this teaching, our lives and those of others can be transformed. I know this to be true on a personal level and wholeheartedly commend this CD to you.

New Website – Our new website has been a long time in preparation. It has been professionally done and those who have seen it say that it is a very good piece of work.  We are delighted to be able to launch it on the night of our 20th Anniversary Service; Monday 18th November 2013. Please pray that God will really use this new dimension to our ministry.  We are very grateful to George Hewitt for his work in helping to bring this website into being. The address for the new website is www.divinehealingministries.org
